Ringside Studios was established in 2020 by Gub Neal and Edward Barlow as a joint venture with leading French production and distribution group Newen Studios to create innovative, ground-breaking drama for the UK and international market. Ringside’s most recent show LIAISON, a six-part international thriller starring Eva Green and Vincent Cassel, launched on Apple TV+ in February 2023.  

My name is Leon, a 90’ film starring Malachi Kirby, Monica Dolan and Olivia Williams, aired on BBC2 in June 2022, garnering great reviews and a consolidated audience of 1.5m. It won Best TV Movie at the 2022 C21 International Drama Awards. 

Gub is an Emmy award-winning producer responsible for the internationally acclaimed and BAFTA nominated series The Fall, starring Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan, as well as the successful French adaptation, Insoupçonnable. His other credits include The last enemy, Prime suspect, Cracker, Queer as folk and the Prix Italia winner Sunday. 

As well as producing its own content Ringside is also working with established UK talent through its investment fund Ringside Media, led by Kate Bennetts. Ringside Media has brought together a network of creative led scripted production companies working across television, film and theatre. Together with Ringside, these companies form an ambitious creative ecosystem and offer an alternative way of producing at the highest level to studio-driven models.
