NEWEN STUDIOS SIGNS AN AGREEMENT TO ACQUIRE JOHNSON PRODUCTION GROUP

Newen Studios has signed an agreement to acquire a majority stake in the American company Johnson Production Group (JPG), one of the major players in the packaging, financing, production and distribution of TV movies worldwide.

The investment in JPG is part of Newen’s strategy to develop and acquire global IP. This acquisition allows the Group to further strengthen its ambition in the dynamic and highly resilient TV movie market and follows the majority stake it took in Reel One in 2019.

Founding President, Timothy O. Johnson, will continue to lead Johnson Production Group, which he created in 1992. Since that time, JPG has firmly established itself as a leader in its field in the North American market.

Present in all popular genres (thriller, action and romantic comedy, drama), the Group packages, finances and distributes over 40 movies each year with worldwide successes such as Christmas at Pemberley Manor, Love on the Slopes, Falling in Niagara, Hotwired in Suburbia, and Noel Next Door

Pierre Branco, CEO of Newen Studios, said: “We are delighted to welcome Tim Johnson and his team to the Newen Group. The signing of the agreement for the acquisition marks a new step in the Group’s development and its international expansion. With Reel One and now JPG, we are becoming one of the world leaders in the production and distribution of TV movies while strengthening our privileged access to the North American market.”

Timothy O. Johnson, President of Johnson Production Group, said: “Newen is the perfect strategic partner for our organization going forward in this dynamic marketplace.
