Newen Connect additionally secures distribution for Arnaud Lemort’s family comedy in over 30 markets.
Sony Pictures International Productions (SPIP) has picked up the rights to Arnaud Lemort’s French family comedy FAMILY THERAPY (JAMAIS SANS MON PSY) from Newen Connect. The deal, which was negotiated by Newen Connect’s Alice Damiani will allow SPIP to develop localized versions of the title around the world, excluding China and France.
Produced by Atelier de Production (Mathieu Verhaeghe and Thomas Verhaeghe) with TF1 Studio, UGC & TF1 Films Productions as co-producers, FAMILY THERAPY stars Christian Clavier (Serial (Bad) Weddings, Asterix and Obelix), Baptiste Lecaplain (The Exes, Nous York), Claire Chust (Instant Family, Miss), Cristiana Réali, Rayane Bensetti (Let’s Dance, In the Game). The comedy follows the deeply anxious Damien Leroy (Lecaplain), who is challenged by his therapist Dr Beranger (Clavier) to find a woman to share his life. When Damien does just that and finds the love of his life in Alice (Chust), he soon discovers that his father-in-law is none other than his therapist, out to make his life a living hell.

In addition to the deal with Sony Pictures International Productions, Newen Connect has also secured sales of the finished title in over 30 markets across Europe and the Middle East, North America, and Australia and New Zealand. These deals include: Australia & New Zealand (Vendetta Films), Benelux (Paradiso), Bulgaria (Beta Film), Canada (TVA Films), Czechia & Slovakia (Donart), Estonia (Estin Film), Germany & Austria (Lighthouse), Greece (Spentzos), Hungary & Romania (Vertigo Media), Italy (Movies Inspired), Israel (Forum Film), Middle-East (Grand Entertainment), Poland (Telewizja Puls), Portugal (Nos Lusomundo), Spain (A Contracorriente Films), Switzerland (Pathé Films) and Ukraine (Total Film Distribution). A sale with Skeye also means that FAMILY THERAPY will be available to a range of airline companies.
In France, the movie will be released in by UGC Distribution and TF1 Studio on December 11.
